Job Description

TRC seeks aVice President, Programsto manage a large and growing portfolio of business within the clean energy transportation and air quality improvement. The selected candidate will possess exceptional writing, including grant-writing, research, communication, organizational, analytical, customer service, project management, and follow-up skills. Must have a “can-do” attitude, willingness to work hard in order to get the job done in a deadline-driven environment, and a passion for delivering excellence. Must be a self-starter, with the ability to anticipate, respond to, and fulfill supervisor, teammate, and client needs.

The Role:

  • Independently leads and executes on new and existing clients; this includes but is not limited to:setting the project vision; joining initial and strategic client discussions and meetings with internal staff; checking in with project staff on project execution deadlines, timelines and organization; working to collaborate on project outlines and client deliverables; overseeing the client deliverable meets or exceeds the expectations of the client and of org; and develops and manages project financials.Projects could range in size from $5,000 one-off initiatives to several hundred-thousand-dollar initiatives, over multiple years. Excellent deliverables will drive more work from existing clients.
  • This is a highly visible position externally with clients and partners.
  • Provides oversight on Sr Program Manager led work.
  • Oversees billing, invoicing and resource management for specific projects
  • Assess workload and make recommendations for optimal staffing.
  • Assess, develop, and implement project estimation and resource management tools.
  • Lead grant / incentive application and reporting efforts in the clean transportation sector.
  • Lead, mentor and develop subordinate staff.
  • This position reports to Senior Vice President of Programs.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in business, policy, or a related field is preferred.
  • Must have experience with grant writing and additional preference, but not required, for transportation / infrastructure experience.
  • 7-10 years of project management and clean transportation/energy and/or fleet experience.
  • Experience independently working with and managing high level customer-facing projects and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to physically attend in-person meetings at client sites and/or in the office, per client requirements.
  • Demonstrated success with independently managing projects, staff, and own schedule to ensure high quality and timeliness of work.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication excellence, to effectively and concisely communicate at all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with standard office and project management software.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and mentoring staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Location:

This position will require the successful candidate to work from office in Santa Monica, CA with a hybrid remote work schedule available at the Manager's discretion.

In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $130,000-$160,000. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
