Essential Functions of the Position:

• Processes patient check in and system registration.
• Provides information to the public about Houston SPCA programs and promoting good animal care and responsible pet ownership.
• Maintains and organizes the Houston SPCA Pet Wellness Clinic lobby and work area on a daily basis.
• Maintain a thorough and accurate patient records for the animals in our care.
• Assist staff with initial customer questions and/or issues in a timely manner.
• Ensure animals are properly cared for, monitored, medicated, and treated as needed.
• Keeps current inventory of necessary program supplies and report shortages to the Wellness Clinic Coordinator.
• Protects all confidential information, including customers, donors, animals, and internal communications.
• Responsible for administering vaccines and other medications via SQ, IM, and/or IV roots when needed.
• Collect specimens including but not limited to blood and fecal samples and perform laboratory procedures.
• Represents the Houston SPCA by providing excellent customer service and focus.
• Solicits donations as required.
• Responsible for finalizing accurate payment transactions.
• Thorough knowledge of the Houston SPCA policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of Houston SPCA partners and products/services they offer.
• Knowledge of the Houston SPCA policies and protocols, such as, but not limited to admitting, cleaning and medical protocols.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
