IMEG Corp. is growing, and we’d love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer in our Lanham, MD office. As a Senior Civil Engineer you will be responsible for providing a high level of leadership, mentoring and training for less experienced staff.
Some key duties and responsibilities include:
  • Makes major design recommendations and design decisions with little input from senior staff
  • Plans design work by discipline for all project sizes and assigns duties to staff working on projects
  • Reviews correspondence prepared by junior staff; Actively participates in quality control of projects
  • Effectively serves as Project Manager on large complex projects or multiple smaller projects
  • Direct and train Civil Designers to assist them in completing reports, exhibits, plans and specifications and permit applications as required by the project’s contractual scope
  • Coordination of municipal, transportation, traffic, and other disciplines
  • Identifies prospective clients, assists in marketing to develop new clients and prepares proposals for services
  • Consistently brings work into the firm with existing or new clients and participates in presentations to clients
Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:
  • Mastery of the technical aspects land development civil engineering, including: roadways and streets, grading, SWM/BMP, erosion and sediment control, storm sewers, sanitation, and water design; Ability to mentor, motivate, and lead others
  • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
  • Ability to interpret state and local design criteria and apply it to the specific project needs
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Education and experience requirements are:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer license
  • Minimum fifteen years of experience at the Senior Civil Engineer level
