Overview:
The Regional OQ Evaluator positions uphold the integrity of industry policy, OQ law, best practices, and educational methods to certify and train highly competent employees to improve the future and safety of the entire natural gas industry. They know NLC’s program objectives by heart, and every lesson and certification they deliver will aim to achieve those objectives. This position will hold the OQ process in such a high regard that they will inspire others to excel and achieve at all levels. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and is able to solve problems on the fly.


POSITION DETAILS
:

  • FULL-TIME POSITION THAT SERVES THE GENERAL KANSAS CITY, MO REGION (Candidate MUST reside within a 60-mile radius of the Kansas City area)
  • MAY TRAVEL UP TO 100% OF THE TIME, PRIMARILY WITHIN THEIR HOME REGION
  • MAY REQUIRE OCCASIONAL TRAVEL OUTSIDE HOME REGION
In this position you will have the opportunity to::
  • Maintain working knowledge of industry best practices and state pipeline safety regulatory requirements that are applicable to our customers territory and work methods
  • Travel up to 100% of the time, primarily within the home region to audit, train and evaluate OQ tasks in a classroom and hands on setting through different OQ Entities including Veriforce, MEA, ITS and EWN
  • Participate in training, audits, conferences, and customer events as needed
  • Communicate with the customer operations staff and supervisors at every training location to ensure all training and OQ task needs will be met
  • Be responsible for all related paperwork including OQ task documentation, weekly OQ reporting, assessments, audits, and credit card reconciliation
  • Maintain all Gas Tech Mobile Training Labs, making sure they are clean, organized and well stocked after use
  • Observe and evaluate manual skills performance in an objective and consistent manner
  • Be responsible for the security of all NLC written and electronic examinations while in his/her care, in compliance with NLC standards
Required Education & Experience::
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience and/or field knowledge preferred but not limited to: Pipeline distribution installation and maintenance, corrosion maintenance, coating application and maintenance, cathodic protection systems, pressure regulating, location and line marking, excavating, and back-filling, welding and atmospheric monitoring, inspection, and valve maintenance. Highly proficient in gas operation and station work procedures preferred
  • Current, valid driver’s license
  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant Quality Supervisor field work experience
  • Ability and willingness to travel
The successful candidate will possess the following::
  • Crew Leader or Foreman experience preferred
  • Commercial Driver’s license or ability to obtain one
  • Strong communication and PC skills; primarily in Microsoft Office, Excel, SharePoint and Zoom
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
Salary:
$92,000 annually + $800 per month vehicle allowance
