YACHT ELECTRICAL SPECIALIST
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Inspect, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair yacht electrical systems of all kinds.
· Provide solutions for complete electrical systems such as power generation, shore power, power storage, low voltage, one or three phases, power charge, transfer and conversion, power distribution, lighting, instruments, electrical appliances, electrical rooftops and pantograph doors, bonding, switch panels, control and monitoring.
· Measure and specify all components.
· Combined advanced knowledge of electronics, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulics directly related and applied to electrical systems and corresponding components.
· Utilizes appropriate tooling, instruments, equipment, technical information, diagnostic equipment for inspections, troubleshooting and repairs.
· Advanced skilled field service and provide technical support.
· Perform onsite maintenance and repairs on electrical systems.
· Help and support for building accurate estimates and billing of repairs.
· Perfect understanding of metric and imperial dimensional systems.
· Understands working principles and how all systems, working sequences and components work onboard.
· Understands and practices yacht etiquette in all aspects of his or her work onboard.
· Elaborate daily reports, estimate labor per task and per job, estimate materials and components.
· Prepare technical reports with photos, symptoms, inspection, actions taken, analysis, conclusions and recommendations, when assigned and required by management.
· Clean, protect and prepare working areas, before and after.
· Travel within the US or abroad to attend factory and/or additional technical training, as necessary if requested upon.
· Domestic and international travel to service yachts when necessary, especially in the summer.
· Must be available to travel anytime with a short notice.
· Must be available to respond to emergency calls, anytime.
· Must have availability to work overtime in order to meet deadlines.
· Must have flexibility to work on nights / weekends / holidays possibility, when necessary.
· Must accompany corporate captains on sea trials when needed.
Education, Experience, Requirements, Qualifications and Skills:
· Minimum of 7 years experience in the yachting industry is required.
· Possess job-related skills like welding, plumbing, carpentry, fiberglass, painting, splicing, PVC and Hypalon, teak, stainless steel and aluminum, upholstery, mast rigging.
· Use of tools Microsoft 365 , Office, One Drive, Gmail, Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point.
· Experience in the use of TeamViewer, Any Desk, Zoom, Google Meet, Skype, and any other remote access software.
· OSHA certificate, valid.
· Must possess own vehicle for mobile services.
· Ability to ascend and descend a ladder
· Must possess and carry own tools and basic instruments.
· Ability to work in confined spaces
· Ability to lift 50 pounds
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
