THE POSITION

Within an Unemployment Compensation Board of Review (UCBR) Referee office, this Clerical Assistant 3 supports the Referee staff in processing UC appeals involving varied and complicated legal issues. These appeals are filed from determinations issued by UC Service Centers as well as remands from the UC Board of Review.


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

We're looking for someone to manage the Referee’s hearing schedule; prepare hearing notices and schedule services for hearings. You will transcribe decisions from digital recording; prepare decisions from typed drafts; proofread documents and verify data; input data and maintain electronic and paper files; handle client inquiries by various means; upload digital hearings daily; may perform timekeeping duties.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
    • Work hours are negotiable based on operational needs.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week after the successful completion of the training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Springfield.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
